As Gemfont continues its steady growth trajectory, we look to the future with a strategic focus on sustainability. In alignment with the global goal of limiting temperature rise to 1.5°C (SR1.5) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we began formulating our sustainability goals in 2021, setting clear targets and actionable plans.

Climate change has become one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and the world is united in its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. At Gemfont, we have already taken significant steps by conducting greenhouse gas inventories and formulating robust carbon reduction strategies. With the completion of solar photovoltaic power systems and long-term renewable energy supply contracts, Gemfont operations have been powered with renewable energy since 2023 and we aim to achieve our carbon reduction target with 100% renewable energy.

A New Chapter In Sustainability

Zhongli Production Logistics Center

The Zhongli Production Logistics Center, which will be officially inaugurated in 2024, has incorporated sustainable environmental principles into its design from the planning stage. Following energy-saving and carbon reduction guidelines, the center is equipped with various systems and facilities, including solar photovoltaic power generation systems. The sustainability management systems implemented here will serve as a benchmark for other Gemfont facilities.
